Can I put photographs in my Video Slideshow?
Although it's called a Video Slideshow, it's so much more than that. We can combine photographs, slides and negatives into one Video Slideshow. After all, they're all pictures once we've scanned them. So they work nicely together.
Will the Captions be on pictures I have prints made from?
No. They will be on your Video Slideshow pictures on the DVD, but will NOT be on the CD we give you that you can have prints made from.
Video Slideshow pictures (photos, slides, negatives) are at a low resolution to match the TV and computer monitors. The images on the CD are at a high resolution (more dots to the inch) so you can have quality prints made from them.
Can I add a special poem?
Yes. We can even add your wedding vows or poem or other special message. Just print out a copy for us and tell us where you'd like it to be in the Video Slideshow. We'll type set it in something appropriate to the message.
Can you put music in my Video Slideshow?
Yes. Send us a CD or cassette tape with your order with the music you want us to use. If you'd rather we select something for you, tell us what type of music you would like and we will select something appropriate from our music library.
You can have one song repeated over and over or several songs used throughout the Video Slideshow or in certain sections. The choice is yours.
What are Chapters?
Chapters are individual sections of your movie such as "Linda's 16th Birthday", "London Holiday 1987", etc. The Chapters are listed in a Menu when the DVD begins.
Having Hollywood-style animated Menu Chapters on the DVDs we produce for you, means you can see exactly what's on the DVD from the "live" scenes in the Menu. Click on one and you're watching just what you want to see. Or click on the main scene and watch the whole Video Slideshow. More information and screen captures.

Approximately 1,000 items (photos, negatives and slides) can fit on one DVD for your Video Slideshow.
Do I need to give you a blank disc?
No. We provide all DVDs and DVD cases.
Do I get my originals back?
All slides, negatives and photographs are returned to you in their original condition. They are not harmed in the transfer processes we use. |
Do I need Captions?
The people who have added captions to their Video Slideshows tell us they are so glad they did.
Not only do Captions make the Video Slideshow more interesting, they also preserve information that would otherwise be lost. Will you remember all your bridesmaid's names 10 years from now? With captions you will. Will anyone else watching the Video Slideshow know where the photos (slides, negatives) were taken?
Our Personal Experience
We'll share with you our personal experience to help you see what we're talking about. We were working on a very large Family Heritage Video Slideshow with slides and photos. It was a family project that spanned almost 100 years of family history and used captions on almost every image.
As extended family members contributed more and more photos to the project, the work took longer than normal. As a result we saw their Video Slideshow quite a lot as the project progressed.
What surprised us was how much we enjoyed watching individual members of their family grow up. We saw one little boy's first baby pictures, playing at the beach with friends, birthday parties and when he became member of an Australian Olympic team and finally married.
Because all of these things were captioned in the Video Slideshow, we could follow his progress along with all the other family members. Like watching a good documentary, we were drawn into this family's history.
Captions turn the ordinary into extraordinary.
How long does it all take?
The time varies depending on our backlog, and of course the size and complexity of your order. We will do our best to return your completed order as quickly as possible.
There can be a lengthy waiting list for intricate projects like Biographies and Family Histories. If you have a deadline, please contact us as soon as you can to avoid disappointment.
Please note, we are NOT responsible for postal delays. We overheard an Aussie telling a tourist the other day that a kangaroo delivers his mail in its pouch. We definitely are not responsible if you mail to us this way.
